Abstract

This study investigates the impact of electronic power aging on implantable antennas, with a specific focus on the leakage current characteristics of high-voltage (HV) armature winding. The research explores how vibrations generated by the electrostatic field during the operation of HV motors can lead to degradation in these antennas, a phenomenon analogous to slot partial discharge (PD) in series motors. The study delves into how increased melt temperature, due to inrush current or insufficient thermal efficiency, exacerbates this degradation. To simulate electronic aging, several discharge bar systems were used to observe the development of slot PD and the effects of aging factors on these characteristics, offering insights applicable to implantable antennas. Motor stator plates, akin to components in implantable antennas, were subjected to extended exposure at elevated temperatures, up to three times the nominal line voltage of 7 kV, to mimic aging conditions.
