Abstract

The number of learning management systems available to schools has grown significantly. These systems are called learning management systems or LMSs. They allow companies and schools to learn remotely and globally via the internet. This work is divided into three areas. The work first involves the definition of e-learning platforms, the definitions of e-learning management systems CMS, LMS, and LCMS, then a comparison between different LMS to choose the most suitable one for our research. Second, the work involves selecting and justifying the choice of an e-learning platform, for which the authors propose a comparative study of the six most used platforms (Canvas, Chamilo, Claroline Connect, Ilias, Moodle, and WordPress). At the end, they present an overview of the possibilities of the Moodle platform. Third, the work involves installing the Moodle platform on a server based on a set of technical tools through containerization technology. Then the authors propose the configuration of the Moodle platform according to their project's context and situation.

E-Learning Platform And Systems

Platforms are becoming increasingly important. First, they have profoundly disrupted the training landscape. Indeed, the year 2018 was characterized by the entry into force of a profound reform (law of September 5, 2018 on the freedom to choose one's professional future and which profoundly modifies professional training) that generated a new phenomenon: “the advent of an enriched multimodality”. While in 2019, professionals were concerned with its technical aspect. As for the year 2020, marked by the advent of the pandemic, it has seen the development of innovative educational devices (

FFFOD, 2020).

Moreover, platforms play an important role insofar as they contribute to the realization of training, build individualized and evolving scenarios, and promote the reflective analysis of work. Through this block, the authors define an IT platform, the authors define an LMS platform, a CMS platform and an LCMS platform, the authors propose a comparison between an LMS platform and an LCMS platform. Finally, the authors propose a comparison between several open-source platforms to choose our e-learning platform.
