Abstract

The evolution of technology has driven organizations to embrace virtual collaboration tools, facilitating real-time communication and global workforce integration. With the rise of work-from-home (WFH), the concept offers flexibility for both employees and employers, improving work-life balance and business continuity. However, the transition to a remote work culture presents challenges, but it also encourages diversity and collaboration. In a qualitative study conducted among employees of a Romanian company, WFH was found to increase productivity by enabling better focus and time management. Nevertheless, maintaining a work-life balance remains a struggle, highlighting the need to set boundaries and prioritize tasks. WFH can affect team cohesion due to reduced face-to-face interactions, requiring deliberate efforts to encourage trust and connection. Effective strategies include the use of digital communication tools and regular virtual meetings. Finding the right balance between autonomy and onsite presence is critical to optimizing productivity within the organization.
