Abstract

Like every other sector in the world, digitization has introduced a new form of management, utilization, and even protection of our energies and environments. New technologies that are being used to help facilitate this change are smart sensors, blockchain, big data, IoT, and AI. At the same line, the use of big data in the determination of the energy consumption, choice of the most appropriate storage system, as well as in the differentiation of a faulty equipment through the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning aspects are explored. Blockchain technology impacts the energy market in a positive way by enabling new efficient decentralized energy trading and management system. It has to do with the structure of a network of decentralized energy. Also, it ensures the carbon credits and renewable energy certificates are accounted for accurately and authoritatively. Away from the traditional electrical networks, smart grids are a feature of the future energy distribution because of their better communication and control of technologies that enhance the resilience of the grid.
