2. E-Commerce Concept

Internet provides an environment where individuals, societies and institutions that are far from each other can interact, report, share and cooperate in electronic environment. The Internet has a very important place as a network that connects millions of computers and is used worldwide. Today, the internet is among the main ways of accessing and sharing information easily, safely, quickly, and cheaply (Soydal, 2006).

The rapid development of communication technologies and the use of the internet has led to the emergence of a new economic order in the world. The internet has enabled globalization and the disappearance of borders through information and communication technologies. Businesses have started to carry out their commercial activities in this new environment (Gencer & Akkucuk, 2018). With the disappearance of geographical borders, electronic environments where producers and consumers can meet have become widespread. E-commerce includes buying, selling, ordering and in some cases delivering products and services over a network on the internet (Erturk, 2019).

Electronic commerce from businesses to consumers means that consumers can buy the goods and products they want directly from businesses via the internet. Today, consumers prefer e-commerce in order to save time and shop cheaper. E-commerce can be expressed as the realization of goods and services in an open network environment or production, advertising, marketing, sales and distribution activities over a closed network, namely intranet. Through the Internet, movable and immovable goods are changing hands with e-commerce. In addition to all these, services such as consultancy, finance, law, health, education and transportation carried out via the internet are also considered within the scope of e-commerce. With e-commerce, businesses can easily reach new markets, gain new revenues, and reduce operating costs (Savrul & Akın, 2021).
