Background

Africa possesses great potential regarding renewable energy solutions. However, it faces many challenges in widespread adoption. This stems from lack of energy availability and accessibility. Energy poverty and limited access to modern electricity services hinder development across the continent, yet its renewable energy resources, like solar, wind, hydro and geothermal power, are bountiful and untapped (Mukhtar, Adun, Cai, Obiora, Taiwo, Ni, Ozsahin & Bamisile 2023).
