Abstract

The main focus of this research paper is to understand the use of IoT in healthcare to achieve sustainable development. This paper has used the descriptive method to collect the data for study. The research methodology is FAHP, which is a cross-sectional research survey in nature. After data collection, the agreed paired comparison matrices, which are then further allocated to the weighted criteria and then accordingly a priority for the IoT usage is judged. According to the findings of the research, it has been identified that “profit maximization” and “quality of life” were on the top for priority for IoT in the healthcare sector for sustainable development, although, three major areas were identified. Additionally, if we consider according to usage then it is mostly used by the health care sector as UV radiation, dental care, and fall detection.

Introduction

In the healthcare industry which includes the personal healthcare and different applications related to healthcare has increased in the tremendous amount in the respect to the usage of Internet of Things and big data particularly. Despite of so many challenges, even during present times how other services in the healthcare sector is accelerating and they are connecting. It can be observed that the application of Internet of Things will surely increase as it is one of the crucial components in the industry of health care with reference to digital transformation and in these other stakeholders are also supporting and coming together.

Additionally, consumers are very much engaged and involved in the activities which are related to the their health, rather requirement regarding rural and home facilities are quite increasing, different players in the field of healthcare ecosystem are coming up with the innovative approaches and partnerships, and the main goal of the healthcare sector is to keep the expenditure in control, keeping in consideration the quality care. It is becoming essential that more integrated approach is required in IoT enabled e-health.

For the past so many decades, in the sector of health care technology has become integral part in many processes. Although, the circumstances have changed a lot in so many years. There are immense novel opportunities have evolved due to paradigm shift in the area of Internet of Things (IoT). In addition to advances in the area of IoT and big data with special reference to the data handling, multiscale, multimodal, data sets which are heterogeneous in nature have actually created the opportunity for eHealth and mHealth which are comparatively better tailored and accurate than previously. But based on the growth observed in the IoT a paradigm shift can be observed in the health care sector which in turn ensure the accessibility and availability, and during delivery it improves the rules as well. Additionally, existing health care requirements can be satisfied due to broadened horizon in the IoT health, there are many crucial challenges for providing the appropriate, risk free, consistent, supple and power-efficient solutions exist to provide solution to many medical demands. The only solution to this particular problem and challenges is the integration and coordination between the software and hardware sector, which can motivate the movement of technology forward. Remarkable advancement is required in the different areas such as bioelectronics, communication devices, networks and different software, pattern recognition, data analytics which is sophisticated in nature, cloud computing, big data, cloud computing, information technologies and development, before the emergence of truly IoT health care world. Research in the field of health care sector bring together different disciplines on one platform such as researchers in the area of engineering, medicines, engineering in the biomedical sector, computer science, and big data analytics can be easily located working on the associated projects.
