Abstract

E-Learning is the emerging and advance learning pathways in present generation of education. After invention of internet technology, education is moulding in new shape. E-Learning is the effective and modern educational platform to spread teaching and learning in all over the universe virtually. With aid of e-learning platform education system brings lots of learning facilities for the educators and learners that makes the education resilient and facile. People avail all amenities in this age due to the prosperity of technology, society, and urbanisation. Urban areas are growing in tandem with the advancement of modern technologies and demand of advance amenities. Therefore, new shapes of modern urbanisation with technology emerge as smart city. This study interprets all factors of e-learning advancement in educational sector. Many cases of e-learning are present in this study to explore modern technologies used in advancement of learning. This study explores progression of e-learning towards advancement of education that might be connected with making of smartest city.

Introduction

E learning is the technological advance education system. At present age, education system being more progressive and upgraded. Way of teaching and learning are developed according to the modern tools and techniques. Education rapidly extends in advance mode with the backbone of technological platform. After the invent of internet technology, mode of education is transforming in new direction. Significance of E learning is highlighted in lockdown period of COVID 19. In duration of COVID 19 period distance learning get priorities than classroom based learning. Therefore, online education is the only way of distance mode education at this time. Numerous tools and applications are used to build platform for electronics learning. Advance Learning Management System, and Intelligent Teaching and Learning System are the modern applications in e-learning (Henry, 2001). Nowadays, e-learning is more effective and upgraded along with the revised upcoming technology. IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality are the prime technology associated with improvement of e-learning platform (Drigas & Karyotaki, 2014). Involvement of Artificial Intelligence in education sector has large impact in forming of advance e-learning.

E-learning is the segment of smart and advance education. Smart education is the division of smartest city. Today, cities are developing as prevalent city known as smartest and advance city. Infrastructure of the cities has been modernized with recent ICT technology trends. Advance technology based education system is more progressive in this modern era. Development of smartest and technology oriented education is notable in the cities which are smart and intelligent. Purposes of this study is to find out how the e-learning is extended to construct education sector more advance.

Objective of the Study

The work entitled as ‘E Learning in Advancement of Educational Sector in the context of Smart City: A Scientific Study’ has following objectives.

  • To study about how e-learning is improving to build advance educational sector.

  • To study about advanced technology association in e-learning for advancement of education.

  • To study about various applications and tools in context of e-learning for development of education.

  • To discover about the connection between e-learning advancement and formation of smart city.

  • To study about the future trends of smart educational transformation in perspective of e-learning and smart city.

This study is theoretical and conceptual based review article. Article developed from various secondary sources includes research article, news, reports. Data collected from various websites content and interpreted in this article. Technological involvement in e-learning is portrayed in this article by collecting and analysing secondary data from various sources.

Unlimited content regarding study resources keep in cloud repository to free up the device storage utilize by the teachers. Cloud is very essential to manage mammoth study materials in cloud databases. Courses materials and contents size increases and need large storage space. Local devices storage is insufficient to store enormous data. Cloud storage is accessible from any location in the world. Therefore, cloud storage is important to give high capacity areas for data stores and from remote location. Blackboard application is utilize in electronics learning and combine all course content using it. It has been also observed that there are many advantages to apply cloud in enhancement of electronics learning in higher educational institutes.
