Abstract

Mind maps are useful tools for understanding and communicating ideas because people can quickly perceive visual information. In this era of digital transformation, digital education is becoming the hallmark of the education system, which has been intensified, particularly, since the COVID-19 crisis. This raises the need to adapt education tools to fit the new digital requirement. The chapter suggests that with using digital mind mapping software, students can create well organized digital mind maps and effectively take part in the education process. Advance in technology is facilitating the use of such tools. Digital mapping tools develop student critical thinking skills in digital education as well as in the classroom. For this purpose, the authors overview the previous and the present studies, concerning the use of mind mapping tools, and describe the implementation of digital mapping techniques in the digital education in the field of finance.

The Covid 19 As A Catalyst For Digital Education

Policy responses to the Covid-19 problem in the educational sector have mostly focused on digitization of the educational system.

Today's world is defined by technological advancement that touches all areas. To prepare students for the world of work in the future, the education system must use technology to benefit learning and support students in gaining the digital skills essential for success. Students must learn to collaborate and enhance their skills. They must also engage in learning and apply diverse research and creative technology. There are several educational projects and digital tools that promote innovative learning and attempt to improve educational quality in public schools. The wave of the future is educational technology (Hanewald, and Ifenthaler, 2014).

Digital learning materials are digital content or technologies created or adapted for virtual learning, online classrooms, and evaluation. Videos, dedicated websites, online courses, simulators, computer games, and other resources are available. All of this promotes educational development for students.

The use of technology, such as computers, tablets, and the internet, to enhance teaching and learning is referred to as digital education. Online classes, virtual classrooms, and digital educational tools are just a few examples. Digital education can be used to enhance traditional education or to supply educational content on its own.

The capacity to access educational resources from anywhere with an internet connection, the flexibility to tailor and individualize learning experiences, and the ability to use interactive and multimedia tools to promote learning are some of the benefits of digital education.

Because it eliminates the need for physical classrooms and textbooks, digital education can be more cost-effective than traditional in-person education. It is also more adaptable because students can typically access course materials and participate in class activities at their own pace.
