Abstract

This research study focuses on the development of a communication network for industrial sectors using internet of things (IoT) technology in order to enhance privacy and security in the cyber-physical system. The increasing reliance on cyber-physical systems in industrial sectors has highlighted the need for secure and private communication networks. The proposed network utilizes advanced encryption techniques and secure communication protocols to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure. The network architecture is designed to detect and prevent cyber-attacks in real-time and also implements secure communication protocols to prevent unauthorized access. In case of any failures, the proposed communication network has self-healing mechanisms to automatically restore normal operation. The findings of the research show that the proposed communication network is able to effectively protect against cyber-attacks and unauthorized access while maintaining the availability and integrity of the system.

Introduction

Integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) into industrial sectors has greatly improved the efficiency and productivity of these industries. However, the increased connectivity of these systems also exposes them to potential cyber threats, which can compromise the privacy and security of sensitive information (Yogeshwaran et al. 2015). The development of communication networks in industrial sectors can play a crucial role in enhancing the privacy and security of these systems (Hemanth et al. 2017). This research article investigates the current state of communication networks in industrial sectors and explores potential solutions for improving privacy and security in the cyber physical system through IoT (Singh 2017).

Integrating IoT into industrial sectors has brought many benefits, including improved efficiency, cost savings, and increased productivity. However, the increased connectivity of these systems also exposes them to potential cyber threats, such as data breaches, malware attacks, and unauthorized access (Senthil Kumar et al. 2018). This has led to a growing concern about the privacy and security of sensitive information in industrial sectors (Natrayan and Senthil Kumar 2018).

One of the key challenges in enhancing privacy and security in industrial sectors is the lack of standardization in communication protocols (Santhosh et al. 2018). Many industrial systems use proprietary communication protocols, making it difficult to secure the system and protect against cyber threats (Natrayan et al. 2018). Standardization of communication protocols can help improve these systems' security and reduce the risk of cyber attacks (Sakthi Shunmuga Sundaram et al. 2019).

Another challenge in enhancing privacy and security in industrial sectors is the lack of monitoring and detection capabilities (Natrayan and Kumar 2019). Many industrial systems are not equipped with the tools to detect and promptly respond to cyber threats (Natrayan et al. 2019c). The development of advanced monitoring and detection capabilities can help improve these systems' security and reduce the risk of data breaches (Natrayan et al. 2019b). Blockchain technology has been proposed as a potential solution for enhancing privacy and security in industrial sectors (Madupalli et al. 2019; Natrayan et al. 2019a; Senthil Kumar et al. 2019). Blockchain is a decentralized and distributed ledger technology that securely stores and shares sensitive information. The use of blockchain can help improve industrial systems' security by providing a secure and tamper-proof method for storing and sharing sensitive information (Hemalatha et al. 2020a; Natrayan and Senthil Kumar 2020; Singh et al. 2020; Yogeshwaran et al. 2020a; Yogeshwaran et al. 2020b). The development of communication networks in industrial sectors can play a crucial role in enhancing the privacy and security of these systems (Suman et al. 2023). Using secure communication protocols and advanced monitoring and detection capabilities can help improve the security of industrial systems and reduce the risk of cyber attacks (Asha et al. 2022). Blockchain technology can also provide a secure and tamper-proof method for storing and sharing sensitive information (Reddy et al. 2023). This research aims to investigate the current state of communication networks in industrial sectors and explore potential solutions for improving privacy and security in the cyber physical system through the use of IoT (Santhosh Kumar et al. 2022; Josphineleela et al. 2023; Reddy et al. 2023).
