Abstract

The chapter delves into three objectives. Firstly, the chapter aims to find out the intersectionalities of religious events and the Indian tourism industry. For the second objective, the impact of the COVID-19 disease on religious events will be briefly discussed. Lastly, this work will discuss the various emergent prospects, themes, trends, and challenges that will emerge on the paths of the recovery of religious events and pilgrimage tourism post-COVID-19. This work is theoretical in nature and can be classified as a viewpoint article that follows a conceptual research design.

Methodology

The purpose of the current review article is to delve on the interlinkages between COVID-19 pandemic and the religious events in India, alongside carefully using these interlinkages to devise effective recovery plans for Indian tourism. The paper investigates the possibilities and contradictions surrounding the connection between religious events, pandemic prevention strategies, and the resurgence of Indian tourism. The research design, data collection procedures, data analysis strategies, and ethical considerations used in this review paper are all described in the methodology section.
