Introduction

The Background

In today's fast-paced and constantly evolving business environment, change has become the new norm (Belias and Trihas, 2023; Belias and Trihas, 2022c). Change management plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth transitions and reducing resistance to change within an organization (Belias et al., 2023b,c). Effective communication is a key component of successful change management, as it helps in creating awareness, addressing concerns, and building support among employees. When employees feel informed and involved in the change process, they are more likely to experience higher levels of job satisfaction and overall communication satisfaction. In addition, clear and transparent communication can help mitigate uncertainties and dispel rumors, fostering a more positive and productive work environment. Therefore, understanding the impact of effective change management on communication satisfaction is essential for organizations to navigate change successfully and maintain high levels of employee engagement. Effective change management and communication satisfaction go hand in hand. Effective change management involves a systematic approach to plan, execute, and monitor organizational changes in order to minimize disruptions and maximize benefits (Teczke et al., 2017).

During the past years, there has been a wave of various researches related to change management (Belias et al., 2023d; Kriemadis et al., 2023). To a large extent the fact that the environment where firms operate is highly unstable along with the fact that the Covid-19 crisis has brought to the surface the need to achieve a high level of readiness for potential changes (Belias & Trihas, 2022a). An effective change may have several positive outcomes such as in the organizational performance and resilience of organizations (Belias & Trihas, 2022b) and its impact on employees’ motivation and job satisfaction (Belias et al, 2023).

A factor that a successful and effective change is expected to have an effect on communication satisfaction within the organization. It is important to mention that this is a facto that has not been widely investigated. As it is mentioned by Otaivites (2003) an effective and successful change can have a positive outcome in communication satisfaction, something which is confirmed by Durtant-Tyson (2002). Nonetheless, there is a limited number of researches on this topic and this is the driver behind the chapter. Hence, it will examine the impact of effective change management on communication satisfaction to provide the background of related business practices but also of future research.
