Abstract

The research of tribology is the study of wear, lubrication, and friction. Tribology contributes to fulfilling the demands of advanced technological developments. Bio tribology is fastest-growing domain of tribology. Systems inside the human body are vulnerable to contact stresses, which cause wear and degradation. The healthcare system is burdened financially, yet patients suffer the problems followed by partial or complete system failure. The availability of improved functional materials with strong tribological response and good biocompatibility is crucial for developing more efficient techniques. The authors tried examining developments in two-dimensional (2D) materials in bio-applications involving tribological interactions. This review focuses on biocompatible implant surfaces from a tribological perspective, bio tribology in medical applications. It is seen that there are restrictions in this review, as Tribology is an interdisciplinary field; the results of the study are widespread in various domains, so they are eliminated. The application and utilization discussed opens future prospective.
