Abstract

This chapter describes the performance of nutritional security of women and children's representative indicators in India. The cross-comparison of nutritional security of children across Indian states are also explained. It assesses the impact of women feeding on nutritional security of children in India using a state-wise pooled panel data. India is a food self-sufficient country; despite that, it has a large number of nutritionally insecure women and children. There exists a diversity in the nutritional status of children across Indian states. Women feeding is found to be a significant indicator to increase nutritional security of children in India. The findings of this chapter increase the attention of policy makers and government to initiate effective policies to reduce malnutritional of women and children in India. It provides the scope of further research in nutritional security of women and children.
