Description:

A. Background

In innovation in ‘Educational Robotics: Advancing AI for Sustainable Development’, we embark on an interdisciplinary exploration that bridges the realms of English and Science. This book delves into the fusion of language arts and scientific inquiry, presenting a unique approach to educational robotics that integrates the elements of both disciplines. By blending the creativity and communication skills inherent in English with the problem-solving and discovery-driven nature of science, we uncovered new pathways for fostering innovation, critical thinking, and sustainable development. Through this interdisciplinary lens, we aim to inspire educators, researchers, and practitioners to explore the rich potential of combining diverse fields to address the complex challenges of an interconnected world.

The convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with robotics marks a pivotal moment in education, offering transformative possibilities that extend beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. This book embarks on a comprehensive exploration of these innovations, highlighting their intersection with both the English and Science disciplines. With a primary focus on Educational Robotics, we delve into how AI-driven advancements reshape educational paradigms and curriculum models. By scrutinizing the evolution of robotics-based curricula through an interdisciplinary lens, we aim to uncover synergies that not only enhance learning outcomes but also contribute to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through this interdisciplinary approach, we seek to illuminate the potential of combining the elements of language arts and scientific inquiry to address global sustainability challenges while fostering innovation and creativity in education.

B. Issues:

1. Curriculum Evolution:

As the educational landscape continues to evolve, robotics-based curriculum models are being adapted to meet the dynamic needs of learners and educators. This section explores the ongoing evolution of curriculum design in response to emerging technologies, pedagogical innovations, and the imperative for sustainable development. By examining how robotics-based curricula incorporate interdisciplinary elements from both English and Science, we aim to discover strategies that foster creativity, critical thinking, and global citizenship.

2. Teacher Empowerment:

Empowering educators to harness the potential of AI-driven robotics technologies is crucial for realizing the transformative impact of these innovations in education. This chapter delves into the essential strategies and professional development opportunities that enable educators to effectively integrate robotics into their teaching practices and curriculum design. By providing educators with the necessary skills, resources, and support systems, we strive to cultivate a community of empowered teachers who can inspire and engage students in meaningful robotics education.

3. Impact on Sustainable Development

The intersection of robotics-based education and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) presents both challenges and opportunities for advancing the global sustainability agenda. This section examines the multifaceted role of robotics-based education in addressing key sustainability issues such as environmental conservation, social equity, and economic development. By exploring the potential contributions of robotics education to SDGs as well as the inherent challenges and ethical considerations, we aim to foster dialogue and action towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

C. Objectives:

a. Elucidating Theoretical Foundations:

This book provides a comprehensive exploration of the theoretical foundations and historical context of Educational Robotics and AI integration. By delving into the theoretical underpinnings of these fields, we seek to provide readers with a nuanced understanding of the conceptual frameworks that drive innovation in robotics-based education.

b. Analyzing technological advantages

Through an analysis of recent advancements in AI and robotics technologies, this book seeks to elucidate the ramifications for curriculum innovation and pedagogical methodologies. By examining the intersection of technological innovation with educational practices, we aimed to identify opportunities for enhancing learning outcomes and fostering student engagement.

c. Enhancing Teacher Competence:

One of the primary objectives of this book is to assess strategies for enhancing teachers’ competence in leveraging AI and robotics technologies for educational purposes. By providing educators with the necessary skills and knowledge, we strive to empower them to effectively integrate robotics into their teaching practices and curriculum design.

d. Showcasing Best Practices:

This book endeavors to showcase case studies and best practices that exemplify the successful implementation of robotics-based curriculum models. Through real-world examples, we aimed to illustrate the transformative potential of robotics education and inspire educators, policymakers, and practitioners to adopt innovative approaches in their respective contexts.

e. Proposed actionable recommendations

Finally, this book proposes actionable recommendations and future trajectories for research, policy formulation, and practical applications in the domain of Educational Robotics and AI. By synthesizing key findings and insights, we aimed to inform decision-making processes and drive positive changes in the field of robotics-based education.

D. Target Audience

This book targets a diverse audience, encompassing researchers, educators, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in the fields of education, robotics, AI, and sustainable development.
