Many educational books and journals cater to current educators and administrators, and rightly so. However, there is a growing population of former educators who are no longer working as teachers or administrators but who are still actively supporting students through alternative formats. This book seeks to center the voices of these former educators and provide a lens of how these advocates support student growth and learning. Sample audiences include educational non-profits, community youth organizations, colleges and universities, and faith-based volunteers. This book will impact the research community by providing examples of community support for children. Many former educators leave the profession for personal and professional reasons, but their passion for children's growth and learning is unwavering. This is a reference book for this large population of people still seeking to help children every day.
