Description & Coverage
Description:

1) Description: This book focuses on the organization's critical decisions regarding evaluating employee performance to improve employee motivation. Effective employees are critical to the company's survival. As a result, one of the essential functions in Human Resource Management is the Performance Management System. Most organizations do not think about implementing a proper Performance Management System. Instead, many organizations rely on performance appraisal, which uses a performance evaluation questionnaire to measure performance objectively and quantitatively. Most organizations use the traditional rating scale method, which focuses on how employees behave rather than what they accomplish on the job. A successful Performance Management System in an organization would result in numerous benefits. Managers can provide feedback to their employees on their job performance. It gives them a foundation for awarding rewards, assessing training and development requirements, and planning for careers. The employee will learn about their strengths and weaknesses based on their performance. Employees have a forum to express their thoughts about their ratings. Also, to clarify and seek guidance on job-related issues. Considering this, the authors intend to write this book to cover the Performance Management Cycle. It is divided into eight chapters that explain the process of the performance management cycle, the concept of performance evaluation, methods of performance evaluation, the role of the evaluator, and the challenges of performance management.

2) Impact: The performance management textbook can influence research in many ways: The Textbook helps performance management researchers get started. They include a broad review of ideas, models, and empirical studies to help academics comprehend the topic, and they can help researchers discover knowledge gaps and research needs. Textbooks often highlight field issues and controversies, prompting academics to study questions. This book integrates measurement, feedback, goal-setting, and employee development concepts. Researchers can create multi-dimensional performance management studies using this integrated knowledge. The textbook provides theoretical frameworks and conceptual models for scholars. This framework helps researchers organize hypotheses and questions. Textbooks' case studies, examples, and practical advice can stimulate empirical research. These examples may inspire researchers to study real-world performance management solutions. Moreover, it can help researchers compare their findings to known ideas and practices. This lets them compare their findings to current information. Researchers often teach and mentor. This book can help students and young researchers become future scholars. Practical advice in textbooks can inform research findings. Researchers can examine how their work affects organizational performance management policies and practices. These textbooks shape research by offering core knowledge, guiding methods, and encouraging new studies. They contribute to research dialogue and improve performance management strategies.

3) Audience: This textbook serves different objectives depending on context, audience, and reader goals. It can be used in undergraduate and graduate courses. Performance management principles, theories, and practices are arranged and explained to students. It may also be used in staff training and seminars. This improves employee performance by linking them with company goals. Human resources, management, and allied professionals consult performance management texts. This book provides best practices, case studies, and practical performance management system implementation methodologies. In addition, this book underpins academic research. These texts can help researchers and scholars comprehend theories, concepts, and methods before starting their studies. It can help HR professionals create, administer, and evaluate performance appraisal systems. Tips and examples are common in the text. Senior leaders and executives may use this book to design performance evaluation, goal setting, and staff development policies, and it will help students, professionals, and organizations comprehend performance management principles and techniques systematically and thoroughly.
