This publication will focus on the changes in Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) and how teacher candidates are prepared for more inclusive classrooms. Many states have adopted new standards including changes to accrediting bodies and have now developed EPPs that are different from how they were in the 1990s. Most states have more stringent preparation requirements and follow a recipe of national based standards for each program area.

This publication will benefit EPPs that are trying to find ways to restructure their programs to be in tune with the current inclusive practices. With a focus on collaborative practices, schools and institutions of higher education can gain some strategies for partnering for mutual benefits.
