Cases on Physician Cultural Responsibility, Ethics, and Biases

This publication will provide material for instructors utilizing Physician Cultural Responsibility (PCR) within the classroom. This is especially important for those using PCR as an accreditation requirement for cultural humility teaching. This book will encompass cases around multiple different areas of identity, utilizing PCR as a method to provide equitable care, as well as identify ethical issues, highlight physician biases, and the impact of physician burnout. The chapters will start with an overview of PCR and it’s utility, followed by individual chapters on each area of identity that highlight teaching points and multiple cases based on that area of identity that will defy stereotypes and highlight pitfalls in current medical practice.
