Sustainability issues have gained more importance in contemporary globalization, pushing decision makers to find a systematic mathematical approach to conduct analyses of this real-world problem. The growing complexity in modern social-economics or engineering environments or systems has forced researchers to solve complicated problems by using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approaches. However, traditional MCDM research mainly focuses on reaching the highest economic value or efficiency, and issues related to sustainability are still not closely explored.

Editor/Author Biographies
Dr. Prasenjit Chatterjee received his post graduation and Doctoral degrees in Engineering from Jadavpur University and is currently working as an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department at MCKV Institute of Engineering, India. He has published more than 57 research papers in leading international journals of repute and peer reviewed conferences. His research focus is in the areas of Operations Research, multi-criteria decision-making, multi-objective decision-making, advanced manufacturing technologies,sustainable materials selection and green supply chain management. He has been actively involved in teaching under graduate and post graduate courses, research and administrative activities. He has conducted several guest lectures by eminent academicians and industry professionals. He is in Editorial Board, organizing committee and programme committee of several international journals and peer reviewed conferences.

Morteza Yazdani is a PhD in Business and Management sciences and currently works at Universidad Loyola Andalucia. He worked in University of Toulouse and European University of Madrid as post-doctoral and part time lecturer, respectively. He participates as editorial board of International Journal of Decision support system technology and at the same time reviewer of some journals like expert systems with applications, journal of cleaner production, soft computing, applied soft computing among others. His main research areas are decision making modeling and fuzzy decision system in application of supply chain and energy systems. He has published in journals like Expert systems with applications, soft computing, journal of cleaner production, management decision, clean technologies and environmental policy, etc.

Shankar Chakraborty is a Professor in Production Engineering Department of Jadavpur University. He had been graduated in 1986 from University of Calcutta and had obtained his postgraduate degree from Jadavpur University in 1989. He had been awarded with Ph.D. (Engg.) degree from Jadavpur University in 1994. His research interests include applications of different multi-criteria decision-making methods in manufacturing environment, control chart pattern recognition, and development of MIS and ERP systems for diverse engineering applications. He has guided several M.E. and Ph.D. (Engg.) theses, and published numerous papers in international journals. He is also a regular reviewer of several journals of international repute.

Dilbagh Panchal is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab, India. His area of research is reliability and maintenance engineering, performance optimization, fuzzy decision making and process safety. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, India in 2007, Master’s (Gold Medalist) in Manufacturing Technology in 2011 from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, India and Phd from Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee, India in the year of 2016. He has published/presented 18 research articles in reputed international journals and conferences. He is reviewer of many international journals.

Siddhartha Bhattacharyya did his Bachelors in Physics, Bachelors in Optics and Optoelectronics and Masters in Optics and Optoelectronics from University of Calcutta, India in 1995, 1998 and 2000 respectively. He completed PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India in 2008. He is the recipient of the University Gold Medal from the University of Calcutta for his Masters. He is the recipient of the coveted National Award Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar for excellence in education and research in 2016. He is the recipient of the Distinguished HoD Award and Distinguished Professor Award conferred by Computer Society of India, Mumbai Chapter, India in 2017. He is the recipient of the coveted Bhartiya Shiksha Ratan Award conferred by Economic Growth Foundation, New Delhi in 2017. He received the NACF-SCRA, India award for Best Faculty for Research in 2017. He received the Honorary Doctorate Award (D. Litt.) from The University of South America and the South East Asian Regional Computing Confederation (SEARCC) International Digital Award ICT Educator of the Year in 2017.He also received the Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar from Center for Education Growth and Research, India in 2017. He has been appointed as the ACM Distinguished Speaker for the tenure 2018-2020. He received the Young Scientist (Science & Technology) Award from CSERD, India in 2018. He is currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. He is also the Principal of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India. In addition, he is also serving as the Professor of Computer Application and Dean (Research and Development and Academic Affairs) of the institute. Prior to this, he was the Professor of Information Technology of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India. He served as the Head of the Department from March, 2014 to December, 2016. Prior to this, he was an Associate Professor of Information Technology of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India from 2011-2014. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Information Technology of University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan, India from 2005-2011. He was a Lecturer in Information Technology of Kalyani Government Engineering College, India during 2001-2005. He is a co-author of 5 books and the co-editor of 26 books and has more than 220 research publications in international journals and conference proceedings to his credit. He has got two PCTs to his credit. He was the convener of the AICTE-IEEE National Conference on Computing and Communication Systems (CoCoSys-09) in 2009. He was the member of the Young Researchers' Committee of the WSC 2008 Online World Conference on Soft Computing in Industrial Applications. He has been the member of the organizing and technical program committees of several national and international conferences.
