Yigal Rosen

Yigal RosenYigal Rosen is a Senior Research Scientist in The Vice Provost for Advances in Learning (VPAL) at Harvard University. He leads the Harvard VPAL Research Team that enables faculty to create and implement research-enabled online learning experiences for residential and online use, such as HarvardX Massively Open Online Courses. Prior to joining Harvard he was a Senior Research Scientist at Pearson, leading research and development of innovative learning and assessment technologies for real-life skill development. Yigal was a Head of Assessment & Evaluation at Time To Know. He was a member of OECD's PISA 2015 Assessment Framework Expert Group and consulted to Microsoft, Intel, ETS, Ministry of Education in Israel and the National Authority for Measurement & Evaluation. Yigal previously held academic appointments at the University of Haifa, the Open University of Israel and Ben-Gurion University. In 2009 he received the University of Haifa Faculty of Education's Outstanding Lecturer Award. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Haifa. Yigal was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Education and at Tel Aviv University School of Education. He began his career as a computer science, math and science teacher in grades 5 through 12. Yigal Rosen co-edited the book during his work as a Senior Research Scientist at Pearson.
