Wilbroda Hlolisile Chiya

Wilbroda Hlolisile Chiya (nee Ngidi) is a Registered Nurse by profession with a Ph.D. in Nursing specializing in Research. She is currently a Lecturer at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, teaching Research in Nursing module. She also coordinate Clinical and Skills Laboratory for the Discipline in Nursing for all BN program levels. She is passionate about implementation science research, having authored and co-authored research articles on this area. She is also a seasoned Quality Improvement Advisor having trained by Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) providing technical support/mentorship to DoH and NGOs. Her skills includes designing sustainable approaches to quality improvement using science for improving healthcare. She has worked for the department of health in the eThekwini district; the Provincial office in Kwa-Zulu Natal in the District Health Planning; Monitoring and Evaluation under Strategic Health Programs (Maternal and Child; Women’s Health; HIV/AIDS/STI/TB programs).
