Wendy Burke

Wendy Burke is the Department Head of Teacher Education and a full professor of Curriculum & Instruction at Eastern Michigan University. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was named the 2017-2018 John W. Porter Endowed Chair. Dr. Burke has served several terms as the program chair of AERA’s School, University, and Community Collaborative Research SIG, was the co-founder of the Adaptive Leadership Network, and a co-founder of the Michigan Alliance for Social and Emotional Learning. Dr. Burke is currently on the Executive Board of Learning Forward Michigan. Her scholarly interests include: teacher learning and development, school, university, and community partnerships, and professional learning within school improvement initiatives.
