Vivianne Aponte Rivera

Vivinne Aponte Rivera has always had a passion for helping children and their families. A native of Puerto Rico, she completed her medical degree and general psychiatry training there. She later moved to the mainland United States to continue her training as a child and adolescent psychiatrist. She has worked extensively with immigrant populations, particularly Latino children and their families, in her role as faculty member at Emory University and currently at Tulane University. Her experiences have led her to advocate for this population through her clinical work, presentations, publications, research and more recently as a children’s book author.
