Vera Budykina

Vera Budykina , Ph.D., Associate Professor, is a Dean of the School of Eurasian and Oriental Studies at Chelyabinsk State University (Russia). She graduated from the Chelyabinsk University of Education in 2000. In 2004, she got her Ph.D. in Linguistics. In 2010, Vera Budykina got a research grant from the President of Russia and had a long internship at West Bohemian University (Pilsner, the Czech Republic). In 2013 she was granted a Fulbright award and became a Visiting Professor at Harvard University (USA), Graduate School of Education. Her research interests are bilingual lexicography, Russian as a Foreign Language, English as a foreign language, English-Russian terminology of higher education, translation studies, and corpus lexicography. Vera Budykina is the author of more than 40 research papers and the compiler of the American-Focused Dictionary of Higher Education (Moscow, 2017). This project was completed at Harvard University under the supervision of Prof. John W. Collins III who is one of two authors of “The Greenwoods Dictionary of Education”. Vera Budykina is a participant in international conferences in the USA, Norway, Poland, China, Ukraine, Belorussia, etc. She is a member of the Ural Guild of Teachers of Russian as a Foreign Language.
