Umar Nawaz Kayani

Umar Kayani is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Al Ain University, United Arab Emirates. He is a versatile academic with over 10 years of teaching, administrative and regulatory experience for tertiary programs (undergraduate and postgraduate). He graduated from Lincoln University, New Zealand with a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance. Recently, he completed his post-Doctoral fellowship from the Lincoln University, New Zealand. He was awarded Lincoln University Doctoral Scholarship and Lincoln University Summer Research Scholarship. He has published refereed articles in leading international accounting and finance journals. He is a reviewer for several international journals and served as conference chair for multiple international conferences. He has presented his research work at various international conferences; he won the outstanding paper award at 17th Global Business Research Conference, Tokyo, Japan. He has supervised a number of research students. Besides academia, he also worked as Quality Assurance and Accreditation Expert for more than 10 years at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). HEC is a regulatory body for the higher educational institutions of Pakistan, with core functionalities involve fundings to universities, oversee, regulate, and accredit the higher educational institutions of Pakistan.
