Tugay Sarıkaya

Tugay Sarıkaya completed his undergraduate studies at Kadir Has University, majoring in the Radio, Cinema, and Television Department in 2012. Subsequently, he pursued his Master of Arts in New Media at the same institution, focusing his thesis on the limited impacts of social media and the relevance of the opinion leader theory during the Arab Spring, specifically analyzing the cases of Tunisia and Egypt. In 2019, he secured admission to the Ph.D. program in Media and Communication Studies at Istanbul Commerce University. He earned his Ph.D. from the Institute of Communication Sciences and Internet at Istanbul Commerce University, with a dissertation titled "The Effect of Interaction in Virtual Communities on Social Media: Shaping and Reproduction of Cultural Memory, Neighborhood Identity, and Culture." Presently, Tugay Sarıkaya holds a Ph.D. degree and serves as a research assistant at Istinye University in the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. He has contributed numerous articles to both national and international journals.
