Tabassum Bashir

Tabassum Bashir is pursuing Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, AMU, Aligarh, India. Her research topic is the application of motivational enhancement therapy in the prevention of relapse among patients with alcohol use disorders. Her research interests are broadly involved in the assessment and management of mental disorders, especially neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive, and substance use disorders. Additionally, she has direct clinical experience working at the hospital in patient care on both OPD and IPD basis under the supervision of senior consultants. Her work primarily focuses on the complexities of mental disorders and the management of mental illnesses with an emphasis on the role of implications of nonpharmacological intervention in combination with pharmacological therapeutic intervention. She has conducted clinical interviews, psychiatric assessments, neurocognitive testing, and neurodevelopment testing. Apart from that she has published research articles and book chapters, she has also attended several conferences, seminars, and symposiums where she has presented research articles. Lastly, Tabassum aspires to continue his research and create easier access to mental health services for the suffering population.
