Sofia Di Sarno-García

Sofia Di Sarno-GarcíaDr Sofia Di Sarno-García holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) as a member of the CAMILLE research group. Her main research interests include interlanguage pragmatics, intercultural communicative competence, and telecollaboration. Her research has appeared in refereed international books: e.g., Intercultural Communication and Ubiquitous Learning in Multimodal English Language Education (García-Sánchez & Clouet, 2022, IGI Global) and she is the main editor of the volume Telecollaboration Applications in Foreign Language Classrooms (2023, IGI Global) and co-editor of the volume Discussing Global Citizenship through Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) - Virtual Exchange (VE) in Language Learning and Teaching (2023, Coventry University). She is also about to publish a monograph entitled Acquiring pragmatic and intercultural communicative competences in the digital era: a telecollaboration study (Bloomsbury Academic). Besides, Sofia is currently Assistant Editor of the journal The Eurocall Review and a member of the International Association for Teaching Pragmatics (ITAP). She has also taught English as a foreign language at the Universitat Politècnica de València to engineering students and at the Universitat de València to pre-service teachers, both in Spain. She completed a research Erasmus placement at Coventry University (UK) in 2022 at the Centre for Global Learning.
