Shaofeng Liu

Shaofeng LiuShaofeng Liu is Professor of Operations Management and Decision Making, at University of Plymouth, UK. She is currently the Deputy Director of Doctoral College and previously Associate Head of School for Research and Innovation. She obtained her PhD from Loughborough University, UK, specializing in knowledge modelling for global manufacturing co-ordination decisions. Her main research interest and expertise area includes management decision making, knowledge sharing, intelligent decision systems, decision technology applications in real business context, multi-criteria decision analysis in food and healthcare value chains. She has undertaken a great number of influential, collaborative research projects funded by various UK research councils and European Commission with a total value of over €40M. She has supervised almost 20 PhD students and has been an external examiner for 26 PhD theses in UK, Brazil, France, Spain, South Africa, and UAE. She is a regular keynote speaker at relevant international conferences. As an author, she has published 2 books and over 200 research papers. She is the sole author of the book “Knowledge Management: An Interdisciplinary Approach for Business Decisions” published by Kogan Page in 2020 (ISBN-10: 0749494832, ISBN-13: 978-0749494834). The book was translated and published in Chinese in 2022 by CITIC Press Group. Professor Liu has extensive editorial expereince. She has been senior editor, associate editor and editorial board member for 5 international journals, including IJDSST, JDS (Journal of Decision Systems, Associate Editor, 2011-2016), and Cogent Business and Management (Senior Editor, 2013-2019). She has been guest editor for 12 Special Issues in international journals, including IJDSST, JDS, and Information Systems Frontier (ISF). She has edited 8 books published by Springer and 6 conference/workshop proceedings. She is a regular reviewer for over ten international journals. Professor Liu is the current President of Euro Working Group of Decision Support Systems – An International Society. EWG-DSS was founded in 1989 and provides a platform for researchers, scholars and practitioners to collaborate and share knowledge in the broad area of decison making, decision support, decision technology, decision analysis, and other related aspects. EWG-DSS now has members from around the world and organises its annunal confernece series: International Conference on Decision Support System Technology (ICDSST). The society named its annual conference ICDSST to support the journal IJDSST in 2015. There have been close collaborations between the IJDSST and EWG-DSS for very long time. IJDSST is a journal that has been loved and supported by the EWG-DSS.
