Shahrul Yani Said

Shahrul Yani Said is an Associate Professor in Heritage Conservation. She started her journey in academics with a BSc Architectural Studies (Hons) and a Bachelor Architecture (Hons) from International Islamic University Malaysia, studying heritage design. She continues her pursuit of heritage conservation in the United Kingdom and received an MA in Conservation Studies (Historic Buildings) in 2008 from the University of York. Her investigation into urban heritage and townscape led to her PhD journey from Oxford Brookes University, where she received her Doctor of Philosophy in 2012. She is an inspiring researcher and produces and reviews many journal articles in the field of heritage conservation. Currently an ICOMOS member, her interest in heritage area nomination and digital documentation of heritage is evident in the number of active research grants received.
