Sarup R. Mathur

Sarup R. Mathur , PhD, is the Ryan C. Harris Professor of special education in the Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University. She is nationally recognized for her work in the field of emotional and behavioral health and juvenile delinquency. Professor Mathur has been the coeditor of the special issue of Education and Treatment of Children on Severe Behavior Disorders of Children and Youth for more than 25 years. She has authored/co-authored numerous articles, book chapters and books on the topics related to professional development of teachers, effective strategies for children with emotional and behavioral disorders, creating equitable environments for learning, mental health, violence prevention, and transition and re-entry of juvenile offenders. She has served as PI or Co-PI on numerous federally funded projects focusing on improving special education, teacher education, professional learning, capacity building, and leadership.
