Salah Er-Raki

Salah Er-Raki is actually a Full Professor of Applied physics at Faculty of Sciences and Techniques, Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco. He received his PhD in “crop water requirements estimates through combining the modeling, in situ measurements and remote sensing” in 2007, and an ACR (Ability to Conduct Research) in 2014 from Cadi Ayyad University. His main research interests include the application of multispectral remote sensing observations (optical, radar and thermal data) in land-surface-atmosphere models for high spatio-temporal resolution monitoring of crops water needs especially in arid and semi-arid regions. He also contributed in developing a software named « SAMIR, Satellite monitoring of irrigation”, which such basic concepts are based on his thesis work. He also participates in several international experiments (e.g. Yaqui-2006-2008 in Mexico) and he was a co-leader of the joint international laboratory “Télédétection et Ressources en Eau en Méditerranée semi-Aride”, LMI-TREMA ( ). Salah Er-Raki has published more than 85 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, which have been cited more than 2500 times and brought him an H-index of 31 ( ). He serves as a Guest editor, editorial boards and reviewer of many international scientific journals with high impact factor among them are: Agricultural Water Management, Remote Sensing of Environment, remote sensing and Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, Theoretical and Applied Climatology, Soft Computing, irrigation science, water resources management. He has attended and serves as chair sessions in many international congresses and symposiums. He supervised and co-supervised 8 PhD students and he coordinates several research projects (e.g. PHC Maghreb, PRIMA, H2020 RISE action,…). He is Awarded as a Morocco’s top researchers (2016- 2020) in Agricultural Sciences ranked by Essential Science Indicators (ESI) and Web of Sciences, in the Second edition of “Research Excellence Awards”, organized by Clarivate and CNRST, June 2021 . He also awarded as International Young Scientist Award, by the Foundation of Innovative Research, Noval Research Foundation and International Research and Academic Excellence Awards (IRAEA - 2021), August 202.
