Rupal Rautdesai

Rupal Rautdesai , B.Sc. (Chemistry), LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D. (Law), NET, Patent Attorney, currently is a Visiting Professor and Research Advisor at Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS-P), Symbiosis International (Deemed University), (SIU). She also is an independent practitioner and consultant in the field of Intellectual Property Rights. She practiced as a lawyer in Goa’s Local Courts under the guidance of Adv. Mahendra Khandeparkar in the initial years of her career after completing her graduation in Law. She later completed successfully National Lectureship Exams (National Eligibility Test, NET) and Patent Agent Exams in the year 2005 and decided to pursue full time teaching in law. Thus, in the past she taught law full time, from 2005 to 2007 at V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, Goa, 2008 to 2010 at Faculty of Law, M. S. University of Baroda, and from 2010 to 2021 at Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS P). She has published several research papers especially in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, Data Protection Law, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Taxation Law. Many of her papers are SCOPUS and WoS indexed. She has been the reviewer for the Journal of Intellectual Property Rights, published by NISCAIR-CSIR, which is a SCOPUS Indexed Journal since 2008. She has guided several LL.M. and Ph.D. Students. She has been the been involved as a member of Erasmus+ Capacity Building Higher Education (International Research Projects) such as EURASIA and 21st Teach Skills which are carried out under the leadership of Dr. Shashikala Gurpur at SLS P. She visited Bulgaria and Poland under the EURASIA Project, as a part of the team that carried out important tasks. She also was part of the team that visited Greece and Cambodia while making important contributions in the 21st Teach Skills Project. She has delivered several invited sessions and workshops in the field of Intellectual Property Rights and provided consultancy to students and faculty on protection of their creativity and innovations. She visited and delivered symposium and invited sessions at Leibniz University, Hannover, Germany under the DAAD Programme in 2011 and Chuo University, Tokyo, Japan under the SIU Faculty Exchange Programme in 2015.
