Robert E. Niebuhr

Robert Niebuhr became dean of the College of Business at Florida Tech in August of 2007. Florida Tech currently has over 7,500 students and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in business. Dr. Niebuhr came to Florida Tech from Tennessee Technological University where he was the dean of business for six years. Prior to that, he served as a faculty member and administrator at Auburn University for twenty-four years. During that time, he was chairman of their management department, helped create their Executive MBA Program, and served as interim dean of the college for one year. Dr.Niebuhr’s research deals with a variety of management topics and also examines the issues with different delivery approaches to student learning processes. He has been involved with creating and providing distance-based academic programs for over twenty years. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Niebuhr worked as a metallurgical engineer for ten years before pursuing his doctorate in management at the Ohio State University. His engineering degrees include a B.S. from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. from The Ohio State University.
