Richard A. Price

Richard A. Price (he/him/his) is a white cis-gendered Gay man. Richard has received multiple Masters degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling, Kinesiology, and Applied Behavior Analysis from Michigan State University. He then served as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA (c)), working specifically with school and transition-aged youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Currently he is a fourth year Doctoral Candidate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign studying Special Education with an emphasis on students with significant support needs transitioning to work. Developing the knowledge in understanding all aspects of a person and how they identify is a passion of Richards. His research focuses specifically on supporting individuals with disabilities, within the transition out of high school to work. His main line of research focuses on vocational assessments for individuals with significant support needs. Other interests are related to self-advocacy and/or self-determination, vocational counseling, and independent living supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). He is also interested in the intersection of identities, such as the intersection of Disability and LGBTQ+.
