|Rebecca Mathews - Contributing Author|Dr. Rebecca Mathews , a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Approved Supervisor who has provided mental health care for 15 years. Her clinical and research interests include suicide prevention, child & adolescent counseling, the therapeutic relationship, trauma, and counselor development. Dr. Mathews works to bridge the scientist-practitioner gap by providing supervision and training to counselors, medical personnel (psychiatry fellows, medical students), school personnel, and legal professionals.
