Rafael Vargas-Bernal

Rafael Vargas-Bernal received a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering from the University of Guanajuato in 1995 Mexico, and the degrees of Master of Science and Doctorate in Science with a Specialty in Electronics from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) in 1997 and 2000 from Mexico, respectively. Since September 2000, he has been a professor-researcher at the University of Guanajuato and the Higher Technological Institute of Irapuato (ITESI), Mexico, where he has established himself as a researcher in electronics and materials engineering. He has authored 19 articles in journals, 50 chapters in books, and more than 100 conference articles. He has edited three books for IntechOpen. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI-Mexico). He regularly serves as a reviewer of scientific articles in RSC, Elsevier, MDPI, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and ACS, as well as Standards in Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). His research interests include two-dimensional materials, nanomaterials, space materials, composite materials, gas sensors, and biosensors.
