R. K. Kamat

Rajanish K. Kamat was born in India in 1971. He received B.Sc. in Electronics, M. Sc in electronics, in distinction in 1991 and 1993 respectively. He also completed M.Phil in Electronics in 1994 and cleared the state eligibility test (in 1995), which is mandatory for faculty positions in India. He received his Ph.D. in Electronics specialized in “Smart temperature sensors” from Goa University and completed the same 2003. He was awarded merit scholarship for the master’s program. Dr. Kamat is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Electronics, and also heading the Department of Computer Science Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India (http://csd.unishivaji.ac.in/event/home.aspx) Prior to joining to Shivaji University, he worked for the University of Goa for ten years. He has successfully guided five PhD students in the area of Electronics and Computer Science. His research interests include smart sensors, embedded systems and VLSI design Information and Communication Technology. He is a recipient of Young Scientist fellowship of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and worked extensively on Open Source soft IP cores. One of his research paper won the 4th place in the international competition of papers organized by the American Society for Information Science and Technology [ASIST, USA] for the year 2008. He has published over 60 research papers through the renowned publishers such as IEEE, SPIE, Springer, Elsevier, etc. and presented over 100 conference papers. He is the author of eight books published by Springer, UK His books published by Springer are placed in many institutes of higher learning all over the globe. He is member of IEEE and life member of the Society of Advancement of Computing in India. His name has been included in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World, USA.
