Patricia Fidalgo

Patricia Fidalgo is an associate professor who joined the Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) in 2014. She has taught in undergraduate and graduate programs. She holds a Ph.D. in Sciences of Education from Nova’s University of Lisbon. Fidalgo is an expert in technology, networks, and multimedia in education and training, with over 24 years of teaching experience in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. She was Chair of the Emerging Researchers’ Group of the European Educational Research Association from 2011 to 2016. In this role, she managed and organized the group’s activities, annual international conference, and summer schools. Her research interests include the use of technological devices by higher education students, the usefulness of learning information literacy skills to enhance 21st-century skills, and the integration of 3D printing in educational settings. Fidalgo is currently researching distance education’s potential as a strategy for higher education institutions. She also has experience using blended and distance learning models. Fidalgo is the Head of the Curriculum and Instruction Division and the Chair of the Research Grants Committee at ECAE.
