Nirase Fathima Abubacker

Nirase Fathima Abubacker is an Associate Professor at the Asia Pacific University in Malaysia. She received a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics (BSc) and a Master Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) in 1997. After serving in the teaching industry for a few years in Malaysia & Saudi Arabia, she obtained her Master of Philosophy in Computer Science (M.Phil) in 2008. She enrolled for a PhD in computing in January 2011, specialising in the field of Intelligent Systems at the University Putra Malaysia and received her PhD in 2016. Since 1997, she has been a lecturer and then a senior lecturer in the field of computing and IT for both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. From 2017, She worked as an Associate Professor in Dublin City University, Ireland as well as a visiting professor at United Arab Emirates University, Abu Dhabi. She has published more than 20 research papers in both ISI and Scopus journals focusing on the field of medicine. Her current research interests include data science, image processing, and computer vision using machine learning and artificial intelligence. She also serves as a reviewer for various indexed journals and has actively participating in dealing with industrial projects.
