Negina Khalili

Negina Khalili is a Visiting Professor at Loyola University New Orleans. Before her departure from Afghanistan, she was Chief Prosecutor for the Attorney General's Office and before that was the first female prosecutor in her native Ghor province. Negina is a renowned lawyer and expert on the law of the elimination of violence against women, with over 6 years of experience in the field of prosecution, legal affairs and international law practices. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work. Negina was also a law professor at Rana and Fanoos Universities in Kabul. She earned her degree from Herat University Faculty of Shari’a and her LLM (Rule of Law and Good Governance) from Ohio Northern University. Her professional areas of interest also include the promotion of good governance and women, gender equality, peace and security, and Afghan women in leadership.
