Nabat Erdogan

Nabat Erdogan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the MSE (Master of Science in Education) in ELL degree program in the School of Teaching and Learning at the University of Central Missouri. She earned her first Ph.D. in Linguistics from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2008 and her second Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in TESOL and English from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2018. Dr. Erdogan has over twenty years of experience in the field of TESOL, as an elementary, middle, and high school EFL/ESL teacher, ESL program director, and university professor for undergraduate and graduate Linguistics and TESOL courses both in the United States and abroad. Her research interests include comparative typological linguistics, applied linguistics, syntax, phonetics, second language literacy, and reading development for ELLs. Her long-term goal is to contribute to research in the areas of Applied Linguistics and Second Language Teaching and Learning as well as to the education of English learners through the preparation of ESOL teachers and TESOL professionals.
