Mónica Bonilla-del-Río

Mónica Bonilla-del-Río is Assistant Professor in the Journalism, Audio-visual Communication, Advertising, and Public Relations programs at the European University of the Atlantic (Spain). She earned her Ph.D. from the Interuniversity Communication Program, specializing in Educommunication and Media Literacy at the University of Huelva. Additionally, she holds an Official Master's Degree in Communication and Audiovisual Education from the University of Huelva, a Master's Degree in Emotional, Social, and Creative Education from the University of Cantabria (Self-titled); and a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cantabria. Active member of the Ágora Research Group (Andalusian Research Plan: HUM-648) and Alfamed Joven, affiliated with the Euro-American Interuniversity Network Alfamed, she is dedicated to the exploration of media competence for citizenship. Her research focus encompasses educommunication, disability, and digital and social inclusion.
