Mercedes BarrachinaMercedes Barrachina Fernandez works as SAP Security Innovation Lead at IBM Security (SAP Center of Competence in Europe). She studied a BSc and MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, a BSc in Economics and she has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Economics. She has more than 12 years of experience working in the industry and leading projects in many different countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Russia and Peru. Mercedes has management and hands-on experience implementing multiple SAP solutions, such as SAP GRC, SAP Audit Management, SAP Fraud Management, SAP Enterprise Threat Detection, etc. She is also an expert in creating ML models specifically related to biomedical applications. She has lectured in different universities about the usage of technology in the decision-making process or the application of data to train machine learning models to increase the IT security in the companies. She has published several articles in national and international journals as well as book chapters for prestigious editorials.
