Md Sikandar Azam

Sikandar Azam is currently associated with IBS Hyderabad as an Assistant Professor of accounting and finance. He has completed his post-graduation studies at Aligarh Muslim University and his M.Phil and Ph.D. studies at Pondicherry Central University. As a part of the research, he promotes sustainable agriculture, which aligns with the UN SDG Goals. The research area comprises sustainable development, agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural economics, rural development, organic food, and farming. He has published over ten research papers in international journals, including Emerald, Wiley, Taylor & Francis listed in Scopus and ABDC. The research focuses on policy-oriented and emphasizes the transition towards sustainable farming. He has presented research findings at international conferences held at IIMs, IITs, IISc, ISI, IIFT, and Central Universities. Dr. Azam is a passionate teacher, researcher, and trainer. He is keen to learn and open to suggestions for change and improvement. He believes in activity-based learning and case-based pedagogy using ITC in the classroom. He can collaborate, interact, and work with the team. He has around eight years of teaching experience. He has taught Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, Indian Financial System, etc. He received the best paper award at an international conference at Pondicherry University. He was also a representative of Pondicherry University at MHRD (Education Ministry), Govt. of India for the current “New Education Policy 2020”. As a part of the community service, he has voluntarily delivered “career counseling programs” to the needy and underprivileged students of rural areas.
