Maureen Chigbo

Maureen Chigbo , a PhD student at the Bingham University, Nigeria with focus on Communication for Development. She publishes Realnews, the pioneer Nigerian weekly investigative online news magazine. She was the first female general editor of Newswatch, a very influential weekly news magazine based in Lagos, Nigeria. Chigbo, the first female President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), has been a practicing journalism for more than 30 years. Her professional goal is to promote peace, justice and equal opportunity for all in Nigeria through effective investigative journalism that will expose any form of injustice and corruption and facilitate political, socio-economic development in the country.
