Masumi Kai

Masumi Kai received her MA in Japanese Language Studies and her PhD in Language and Culture from Osaka University of Foreign Studies (currently Osaka University). Her research fields are Japanese discourse, language acquisition, and colonial education. Dr. Kai specializes in linguistics and Japanese language teaching. She has taught in Taiwan, Japan, and the US. She was also a scholarship researcher at UC, Santa Barbara and Harvard. She is currently a Professor at the University of Guam.
