Marissa J. White

Marissa J. WhiteMarissa J. White , Ed.D., is an Assistant Principal in a Pre-K – 5 elementary school in Hartford, CT. She has taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in various urban districts across Connecticut. With over a decade of experience in urban education, as a teacher and school leader, she brings expertise in curriculum, social-emotional learning, culturally relevant pedagogy, and student engagement. Dr. White began her career in education through a Grow-Your-Own program, which is designed to recruit and retain teachers of color within predominately minoritized districts. She is now passionate about recruiting and retaining teachers of color and creating empowering systems to support teachers of color.
