Maria B. Peterson-AhmadMaria Peterson-Ahmad is an Associate Professor of Special Education at Texas Woman's University. She is passionate about preparing high quality teachers. Her research interests include educational technology and teacher preparation and effectiveness, particularly how to prepare general education teachers to effectively work with students with disabilities in an inclusive classroom through effective teaching strategies. She is a member of and holds leadership positions in several professional teaching organizations including the Council for Learning Disabilities, Council for Exceptional Children, and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
